Abstract
Summary
Isotonic solutions of bromelin buffered to pH 5.5 were utilized in an immediate and 15-minute procedure to demonstrate antibodies directed against the ABO, Rh-hr, P, MNS, Kell, Duffy, Kidd, Lewis, Vel, and Sutter blood groups. In addition, a bromelin test detected erythrocytes coated with incomplete antibodies. This reaction appears to be dependent on presence of fresh plasma.
