Summary
Homozygous sickle cell (S-S) red blood cells were less capable of fostering surface growth of Hemophilus influenzae, Diplococcus pneumoniae, and Streptococcus salivarius in Trypticase soy agar than were normal adult (A-A) red blood cells.
