Abstract
Summary
Oxidase activity of serum and purified ceruloplasmin is inactivated by ultraviolet irradiation at 2537 Å. Loss of enzymatic activity was correlated with a change in state of bound copper of ceruloplasmin to “unbound” copper. When relative enzymatic activity is plotted against radiation dose, the relationship was exponential (A = A0e-kD).
