Summary
Human red blood cells were analyzed for individual phospholipids using chromatography on silicic acid. Concentrations of the main components, which appeared to be ethanolamine- and serine-containing phospholipid, lecithin, sphingomyelin, and lysolecithin, were measured in red blood cells of 6 normal fasting subjects.
