Abstract
Using the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices in the field is difficult in New York State because of the need to follow two voluminous documents. There is a need for a field handbook that provides information on the most commonly used signs. The Traffic Sign Handbook has been produced in New York State since the mid-1980s. This handbook has been updated to meet changing standards. Several figures, graphics, tables, and other components make the handbook especially valuable.
