Abstract
Centroid connectors in a transport planning model connect the centroid of a traffic analysis zone to nodes in the network. Because current modeling literature provides little precise information on how to model connectors, the paper suggests and evaluates methods for generating connectors and determining connector times in road networks. A microscopic reference scenario is created to evaluate the quality of results by comparing macroscopic travel times between zones and microscopic travel times between nodes. Values for the access, egress, and parking search time complement the paper.
