A Psychologist's Perspective on Psychiatry in China

Abstract

Social and political procedures, which have an important role in Chinese psychiatry are examined with reference to observations made during visits to hospitals in Shanghai and Tianjin, the available Western literature, and to two recent Chinese documents.
