Abstract
This is a report of some of the results of a survey designed to provide some basic social and clinical information about the older people who are admitted to psychiatric hospitals. The results of the survey tend to emphasize the special problems of the age group and need little interpretation. Some changes in the outcome of the hospitalization of older people over the previous decade are also reported, and their significance discussed.
