Abstract
Some of the changes in professional societies chronicled in the recent Carnegie Commission study have been witnessed in varying degrees in AERA. Because of the relatively large percentage of psychologists in educational research, transitions noted in the American Psychological Association often are discussed in AERA programs. Jim Warren, former editor of the APA Monitor, takes a look at some of these developments in this article. He will write an occasional column for ER on other subjects of concern to educational researchers. - Editor.
