Abstract
Following is the text of professional employment guidelines developed by sixteen professional societies in engineering and scientific fields. (See Editorial, page 3.) The guidelines grew out of a May 1972 conference on employment practices which brought together employed scientists and representatives of management. Issued in January, 1973, as a "guide to mutually satisfying relationships between professional employees and their employers," the guidelines have been endorsed by 13 professional societies, and are available in booklet form from each of the endorsers, which include the National Society of Professional Engineers, 2029 K St., N.W., Washington, D.C. 20006, and the Engineers Joint Council, 345 East 47th St., New York, N.Y. 10017. They are reproduced here with the permission of NSPE, which published the guidelines.
