Abstract
By the time UK readers receive this issue, I expect that the UK general election will be done and dusted, and we will know how accurately the polls predicted the outcome, and how the media reported their performance. So, to complete our coverage of researching voting intentions for now, Nick Moon's Viewpoint in this issue discusses media coverage of opinion polling in the UK, and we publish a paper by Manaev et al. describing influences on opinion forming in an ex-Communist state – and the very different role played by the media to the norm in Western societies. I hope you've enjoyed the papers covering this important field of research, and I'd like to thank all those authors whose contributions we've published in recent issues.
