Abstract
The treatment of acute frontal sinusitis is extremely important, as the potential for significant morbidity exists. We conducted a survey of 140 members of the Northwest Academy of Otolaryngology to determine how this disease entity is most commonly treated in our region. Eighty-one members responded. From this data it is evident that the surgical treatment of uncomplicated frontal sinusitis is changing, but antimicrobial therapy remains standard. Adjunctive medical therapy is frequently used, but the effectiveness of these agents in reversing underlying disease pathophysiology is unknown.
