This experiment employed a pre- and a posttest supplemented by a diagnostic test for the treated group of 22 to compare students' progress with two methods of teaching arithmetic. The traditional Saxon Math 87 group performed better than the group given the KeyMath Teach and Practice after a diagnostic pretest. Implications are discussed.
