Abstract
To evaluate a small private college's students' ratings of instructional effectiveness a principal components factor analysis, applied to intercorrelations for 675 students' evaluations from one semester, identified three underlying dimensions of instruction, affective, and classroom environment, Multiple regression analysis further highlighted specific predictors of instructional quality, course content, and perception of improvement in technical skills which could be given additional weight in the development of global assessments of teaching effectiveness. Recommendations for further research are provided.
