Verhulst and Onghena's (1996) report of a near 7-year rhythm in the birth-year distribution for the founders of quantum mechanics is discussed. The suggested human preference for cooperation with persons in the same phase interval was not found in an undifferentiated sample of Nobel prize-winning physicists.
