Abstract
This further analysis of data from an earlier work examined potential effects of gender and benefits of formal training for a sample of professional and managerial women (n = 478) and men (n = 725) employed with the same firm. Two aspects of formal training were considered, participation in courses and rated usefulness of formal training courses. Only usefulness of training courses was related to work outcomes among men, while both participating in more formal courses and usefulness of these courses were related to work outcomes among women.
