In 1993 an examination of 2150 employees' use of and satisfaction with a newly developed Employees' Assistance Program (EAP) showed almost 80% were aware of the program, 6% had used it, and satisfaction of those using the program was high. The 829 women and 766 men were equally aware and equally likely to have used the program and were similarly satisfied. Women were significantly more likely to indicate an intention to use the program if they saw a need.
