Abstract
This study examined the association of 110 managers' scores on downward conflict management strategies and Type-A behavior scores. Analysis of self-reported scores indicated that (1) flexible types of strategies are negatively related to Type-A scores, (2) the aggression conflict strategy is the best predictor of Type-A scores, and (3) no support was found for the hypothesized relationship between the avoidance mode of conflict and Type-A scores. Implications of these findings and directions for research are briefly discussed.
