The present study provided some needed test-retest reliability data for the Child Behavior Checklist for ages 2–3. The Checklist 2–3 was developed by Achenbach and Edelbrock in 1986 to detect behavior problems in toddlers and preschool children. For this study, 30 parents completed the checklist twice over 4 to 6 weeks. Test-retest reliability coefficients for the Total Behavior Problems score, Internalizing and Externalizing scores, and the narrow-band behavior factors were all significant. These data indicate generally satisfactory temporal stability for broad-band syndromes; however, mixed results were found for the narrow-band syndromes of the Child Behavior Checklist Ages 2–3.
