Abstract
The relationships of sex, education, age, student-status, marital status, and classification group to MMPI response patterns were investigated. The sample comprised 568 normal Afrikaans-speakers. Significant profile differences were found between the following pairs of groups: men and women, 16- to 24-yr.-olds and 24- to 55-yr.-olds, persons with 7 to 10 years of schooling and 11 or more years of schooling, students and nonstudents of the same age, single and married persons, and ‘colored’ and white persons by means of Hotelling's T2. Use of eta-squared and omega-squared indicated that even though the variables did affect MMPI response, the effects were small.
