Abstract
Items from the Kansas Marital Satisfaction Scale, the Kansas Parental Satisfaction Scale, and the Kansas Family Life Satisfaction Scale, along with other items for satisfaction with family of origin and time spent with children, were administered to more than 1,100 fathers from three religious denominations. The responses were subjected to maximum likelihood factor analysis using a range of factor extractions to evaluate the best fit to the raw data. While the Kansas Marital Satisfaction Scale and the family of origin items appeared to form two distinct factors, the dimensionality of the other items depended upon the number of factors extracted.
