Abstract
A database in which each record was one position in an academic career was prepared from biographic entries in the Meyers Enzyklopädisches Lexicon. The names for the database were taken from those mentioned in 1950 by Boring with few additions. The database was sorted by university and starting year of the position to produce a picture of the history of faculties at two universities. Göttingen specifically shows a long tradition of philosophers who had a strong interest in psychology, while Leipzig shows a wealth of scholars in many fields.
