Abstract
The present study extended the findings of previous investigations about the educational backgrounds of high school psychology teachers and what they teach. In 1976 and 1989, we surveyed 29 and 113 high school psychology teachers in Nebraska. Findings were consistent with studies conducted in Massachusetts, Florida, and nationally. High school psychology teachers had limited training and background in psychology which contributed to the differences in emphasis on topics taught in high school and college.
