A replication and an extension of the Levenson multidimensional locus of control scales was conducted to investigate control attributed to “Universal Forces” in a population pursuing spiritual development through meditation and prayer. The new scale was an independent dimension of locus of control and significantly correlated .26 with absorption, .20 with Purpose in Life, .22 with frequency of meditation, and .20 with frequency of prayer. The correlation with social desirability was .07 and not significant.
