Abstract
Analysis of communication during tasks can be effected by adopting a problem-solving perspective. This view is illustrated in an exploratory study of a bus traffic-regulation task (dialogues between distant operators). Our method is based on a lexical analysis of verbal data (ALCESTE) as well as an analysis of the sequential organization of the informational variables contained within the dialogues. The principal results show the validity of the method and the interest value of a problem-solving approach in work situations.
