Abstract
A statistical analysis was made of scores on the Charles F. Kettering scale, a popular measure of school climate. The study centered on a multivariate analysis of the Genera] Climate Factors section. The 822 subjects were from an elementary, junior high, and two high school campuses of a large school district in the southwestern United States. Factor analyses show that the subscales group in a different manner than was proposed by the scale's developers. This study suggests new subscales be designed to improve over-all validity.
