For a sample of 90 persons, all from Essen, with the help of a questionnaire whether the difference in the number of siblings of spouses correlates with self-rated marital satisfaction was examined. This was confirmed for the husbands. Differences in sibling numbers for couples also correlate positively with the significance of sexuality in a relationship and negatively with the declaration of risks of childbirth.
