Abstract
105 engineers were rated by their immediate supervisors on graphic rating scales. Subjects were asked about their supervisors' characteristics and about their satisfaction with the performance appraisal. There was a moderate negative correlation for satisfaction with performance appraisal and some supervisors' traits (e.g., refusal to share the glory, refusal to reward subordinates). A positive relationship existed between appraisal satisfaction and supervisors' traits indicating support of subordinates.
