Abstract
This study used a modified version of the Job Descriptive Index to measure the job satisfaction levels of a sample of accountants affiliated with certified public accounting (CPA) firms. Summary statistics were provided for the measure of job satisfaction used. The association of the demographic measures of sex and tenure with firms to the measure of job satisfaction used was calculated. Men were more satisfied with the promotion dimension of job satisfaction than women. The pay dimension of job satisfaction was positively associated to tenure with firm. The measure of job satisfaction was highly negatively associated with intent to turnover.
