Abstract
This study presents a profile of the patient who refuses chemotherapy. It is based on data from a group of 70 such cancer patients who were compared with a matched group of 70 cancer patients who completed their treatments at five oncological institutes in Israel. Despite the differences found on the Psychological Adjustment to Physical Illness Scale and the Brief Symptom Inventory scale, the model shows that the patient who refuses chemotherapy has low confidence in the physician and low expectation of the treatment.
