The development of a brief self-report scale of men's social effectiveness in the areas of dating and sexual relating is described. For a college sample, the 14-item Likert scale showed adequate internal stability. It is proposed that the scale may have some utility in identifying men in need of training in social and interpersonal skills, although the validity of this assertion has yet to be determined.
