Abstract
The present study develops new measures of students' achievement motivation and examines the relationships between these measures and indicators of students' behavioral and college outcomes. Analysis yields moderate positive association of most aspects of achievement motivation with college outcomes. These relationships are quite strong for students' accomplishment and grades and weaker for commitment, assessment, and involvement. The best correlates of behavioral and college outcomes are persistence, locus of control, and action orientation.
