A method for constructing a multiuse apparatus for rats and mice is described. The apparatus can be used as a T-maze, straight-alley, shuttle-box, or as four different Skinner-boxes which can be operated simultaneously. Cues, signals, and different kinds of partitions are available. Shock delivery as well as different response and reward manipulations are possible. Maintenance is simple.
