Scores for 200 disadvantaged (100 boys, 100 girls) and 200 advantaged (100 boys, 100 girls) youth (M age = 16.45 yr.) on Rotter's Locus of Control Scale showed the disadvantaged youth had higher external scores than advantaged youth; girls scored higher than boys on the external scale.
