Abstract
Scores on the WISC—R, PPVT—R, and PPVT were compared for 71 black (42 boys, 29 girls of M age 8.9 yr.) and 63 white learning disabled children (35 boys, 28 girls of M age 8.7 yr.). Separate analyses yielded significantly lower PPVT—R than PPVT mean score; significant differences between the PPVT—R and WISC—R Full Scale IQs, and nonsignificant differences between the PPVT and WISC—R Full Scale IQs. Correlations among standard scores on the three tests obtained separately for each sample, were similar. Implications of these findings are discussed.
