Abstract
A questionnaire was completed by 87 eminent women psychologists. They were asked to list the three people and three works which were most important and influential to them. It was found that the sources of influence for women are different from those listed by men in similar studies. For example, 20% of the women respondents noted that a family member was influential. They also reported fewer books and with greater diversity than men do. Further research on the socialization of women who choose a professional career is necessary.
