Abstract
The objective of this research was to develop three lists of scaled adjectives congruent with Osgood's three dimensions of meaning, Evalutive, Potency, and Activity. A modification of Thurstone's equal-appearing interval scaling procedures was used. Three lists of adjectives, with scale values 1 to 11, were developed. Scores based on these lists were then correlated with Osgood bipolar adjective scale scores. An illustration is provided of one example for applying these scaled adjective lists to one area of measurement; identifying occupational interests.
