For 38 couples the scores of three MMPI-based alcohol scales were investigated. These couples had completed child custody studies. Significant mean differences were noted on two of the three scales between parents receiving custody and those not receiving custody. These scales appear useful in supplying supportive, objective test data in these difficult clinical cases.
