Abstract
The Conceptual Level Analogy Test is a recently developed test of abstract reasoning predictive of morbidity and mortality following cardiac surgery. The present study examined the relationship of test scores with demographic variables and the internal consistency of the test for a non-clinical sample. Analysis indicated that the test is a unidimensional scale. Significant effects were found for age, occupation, and education on total score. Corrections for these demographic factors in future work with surgical populations may improve the prediction of post-surgical status.
