The modified WAIS, an abbreviated scoring procedure presented by Vincent in 1979, was evaluated in a replication study of 45 subjects. Information subtest scores were used to determine starting points for questioning on 5 other subtests. Modified WAIS and WAIS IQs correlated highly for Verbal (.996) and Performance (.999) scales, and Full Scale (.998). The results of this study support Vincent's conclusion that the modified WAIS can be considered as an alternative to short forms.
