Abstract
Individual interviews were conducted with 34 married and 34 single college students concerning their perceived sources of stress and happiness as university students. While no significant mean differences in marital status or sex were observed in data from the interview or four inventories, significantly more sources of school happiness than of school stress were perceived by both married and single students. Perceived sources of school stress were not correlated with perceived sources of school happiness. Separate item analyses for the four groups are presented for the school stress and school happiness inventories.
