Abstract
A survey, administered to 1,580 individuals, concerned: (1) knowledge about the Vietnamese, (2) responsibility toward the Vietnamese, and (3) attitudes toward the Vietnamese. With regard to Part 1, none of the items predicted attitudes; however, in Part 2, three items significantly predicted attitudes. These items seem to relate to a general factor of social concern rather than a sense of responsibility toward the Vietnamese. The attitudinal data (Part 3) indicated a relatively positive attitude toward the Vietnamese much like attitudes toward Chinese and Japanese.
