The present study investigated the utilization of self-drawings as a measure of children's self-concepts. The subjects were 1599 9-, 10-, and 11-yr.-old girls. Each subject drew a picture of herself and responded to a self-concept scale. The data do not offer consistent or conclusive support for the hypothesis that self-drawings are indicative of self-concepts. Further study of the validity of self-drawings as an indicator of self-concept is needed.
