The Sphere of Influence Profile was developed to measure relative salience of spheres in an individual's perceived life space. In this study the profile successfully differentiated 12 women who were politically active from 12 who were not, according to relative sphere salience. These groups were demographically similar, with mean ages of 42 and 45 yr., and comparable educational level, marital and employment status.
