Abstract
Two depressed subjects from the treatment group of a study reported elsewhere are described. The rationale for a comprehensive, behaviorally-oriented treatment approach to depression is discussed. Background information, details of the treatment program, and response to treatment are presented for the two representative subjects, one who improved and one who did not. Differential responses to treatment by the two subjects are discussed. Length of treatment, therapist's competence at implementing the treatment program and maintenance, and generalization issues are considered.
