A computerized system, called ILIA, for teaching a useful non-expressible understanding of complex natural phenomena is briefly described. The applications to teaching psychology to persons without a technical background is stressed, and use in a particular course outlined. Through attempting to teach people about the complex behavior of natural systems without having to learn detailed analytic dynamics, this type of system may have many uses outside of the university. A simple analysis of students' reactions suggests that ILIA may be reasonably effective in achieving its goal.
