A cognitively oriented approach was chosen for the prediction of behavior. The degree in which environmentally responsible behavior could be predicted from utility, knowledge, and sense of efficacy was investigated in a sample of 204 respondents. It was shown that knowledge was the most important determining factor, although only 25% of the variance could be explained.
