This paper describes a study of the concurrent validity of therapists' assessments of patients' change as recorded in a problem-oriented record system. A sample of 30 consenting clients was followed over a 3-mo. period. The criterion measures were the Denver Community Mental Health Questionnaire and the Taylor Manifest Anxiety Scale. The results indicate that the system gives a valid measure for assessing patients' status over time on those dimensions measured by the criterion indices.
