Abstract
The current study investigated the reliability of the Problem-oriented Record System by examining the degree of interrater agreement among four therapists' ratings of the nature of the problem presented and the severity of that problem for 32 outpatients. The data indicate that the system as used provides a reliable system for recording patients' problems on intake, but the interrater reliability for severity ratings was .40. The full implications require further development of training for system utilization and a re-examination of the question.
