Abstract
Scoring schema of word associations for grammatical form, affective and semantic-syntactic associates were developed using factor analyses of logically developed schema. The schema evolved over the past 20 yr. with hundreds of ambiguous words and a thousand subjects of several normal and patient categories. The procedures, rationales, and results of the three schema are presented with the factor structures obtained with 100 normal adult males with mean education at the high school level. The interactions between these dimensions that relate to the organization and size of the associative networks with a number of nomothetic and psychometric variables were examined. Virtually no cross-over between the affective and semantic associative networks was noted. A significant difference was noted, however, in the faulting behaviors with the two networks.
